Neil seemed to be a good natured guy and tried his best at Kalmbach. Was he in Mexico when he contracted it? I believe he moved there after he left Model Railroader. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but some of you on this site that play the pandemic down will sooner or later know someone (though hopefully not someone close) that dies from it, and not all those people will be unhealthy and in nursing homes. I know of several and am worried about one fellow employee who was to get tested and hasn't been back to work in over a week. And I don't live in a area that has been hard hit.

His last post two days ago said he has been in the hospital for 10 days and he was making progress. Very sad to hear. RIP Neil. Edit. Just saw on the MR forums that he had a heart attack while in the hospital and they couldn’t bring him back :-( Posted from iPhone Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/26/20 17:26 by Spoony81. Also, some treatments (and diseases like diabetes, for example) are so drastic that they can cause heart failure.

He was forced to leave MR. magazine IIRC; early retirement. Very tragic and sad his passing. Prayers for his family.
Cheers, Jim Date: 07/30/20 10:46 Re: Neil Besougloff has passed away Author: Streamliner This is tragic and my heart goes out to his family & friends. That said, as someone who has visited Puerto Vallarta and other parts of Mexico, I can't help but wonder if Neil would still be with us, had he remained in the USA.
