Model Railroading > CSXT ex RailgonDate: 07/29/20 20:50 CSXT ex Railgon Author: ghemr I too purchased this unique gondola from Arrowhead Models the day it was unveiled at Lombard Hobbies. I really wanted to bulge and dent the sides but it was far beyond my skill level-----as a result I just weathered it as I saw fit.....

I think putting dents in is beyond my skill level too or I wouldn't want to ruin/break a work of art like the Arrowhead gondola. There is a video where I guy did dent the sides and he took extra precautions and I think did have to re-attach some parts.
I have a couple pre-ordered for around August 10 or so when they arrive with the regular batch - the 1980 GONX. Cheers, Jim Date: 07/30/20 05:14 Re: CSXT ex Railgon Author: wheel_slip I love the chalk arrow pointing to the bleed rod!!!
So how did you make the debris in the gondola? Excellent car!!! Andy Date: 07/30/20 08:38 Re: CSXT ex Railgon Author: Jimmies Nice work there Ghemr. I like the debris in the interior as well.

I find that using real rust (beaten with a hammer) and Woodland Scenic's black ballast seems to portray the debris found in gondolas. The load of billets is Evergreen styrene #164 individually stacked per the prototype after viewing numerous photos on RR Picture Archives. Also, the billets look real good. I too see those a lot with lots of scale on the. I want to say I've seen some paint on them too. I'll find out for sure.
