Rapido News issue 130 is now out and we’ve got lots of updates inside! In this issue: Big Order Deadline - October 15Th!
Here’s the link: https://conta.cc/3lrPLTi Thanks for reading! Jordan Date: 10/15/20 05:47 Re: Rapido News Issue 130 is out now! Author: Arved Not to be a smart-ass (or a dumb ass), but is that a loose couple spring in that last photo?
Arved Grass Fleming Island, FL Date: 10/15/20 08:44 Re: Rapido News Issue 130 is out now! Author: SPDRGWfan I'm looking forward to the Amtrak Phase III F40PH's.
The orange on the Ski Train F40PH's looks a little too dark/deep orange to me vs. photo's of the real thing. This has often been an issue with models vs. the orange on the real D&RGW diesels in the past as well. Here is a photo of the real thing - what do you think? https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.railpictures.net%2Fphoto%2F656474%2F&psig=AOvVaw2EEmk8_T5CWqoR0A4P7L08&ust=1602862594654000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAIQjRxqFwoTCMiyms_2tuwCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAF Cheers, Jim Date: 10/15/20 09:19 Re: Rapido News Issue 130 is out now! Author: rapidotrains Hi Jim,
The Rio Grande F40s will match the cars we've produced. The colors on those were very well received. -Jason SPDRGWfan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I'm looking forward to the Amtrak Phase III > F40PH's. > > The orange on the Ski Train F40PH's looks a little > too dark/deep orange to me vs. photo's of the real > thing. Author: tunnel88 I agree with your color comments, but if you go to the page, there is a photo below that with the rear view of a few different units and the color looks correct there. Perhaps it was some photo color correction at work? I don't recall ever seeing their Ski Train models in person so I don't know how the color actually perceives.

Author: railfan400 I looked at various people's online pictures of Rapido Ski Train cars and the colors varied quite a bit due to the photos, not the models. I recently photographed a (non-Rapido) Rio Grande locomotive for an ebay listing and had the yellow/orange look quite different in some shots. Seems like Grande Aspen gold can be tough to get right in photos!

That's a computer rendering of the X72, not the actual model. These will all be coming equiped with Kadee #158 scale whisker couplers. Date: 10/15/20 10:56 Re: Rapido News Issue 130 is out now! Unfortunately I model prior to the Tempo based Ski Train and haven't seen the models in person. It looks like they sold out so glad they were a sales success. Perhaps the pictures above show the orange on the dark side. Cheers, Jim Date: 10/16/20 03:35 Re: Rapido News Issue 130 is out now! Author: 55002 Hello Rapido,
I live in the UK, and have been waiting for my dealer (Rails of Sheffield) to have the HO B36-7, SP, loco in stock. It must be a year now since its release. Any update for the UK customers, please. Thanks, chris, uk. Date: 10/16/20 15:31 Re: Rapido News Issue 130 is out now! Author: swingnose Any news on the TRE 59s? Have they made the minimum order to reach production? Thanks

Stay tuned! -Jordan Date: 10/16/20 19:32 Re: Rapido News Issue 130 is out now! Author: RapidoJordan 55002 Wrote:

Hi Chris, The B36-7 models all shipped out to dealers back in the fall of 2019 and are all sold out now. It's possible your dealer placed an order after the deadline and missed out, but this is hard to say. Fear not however, there may be a new run in the not too distant future! -Jordan Date: 10/16/20 21:13 Re: Rapido News Issue 130 is out now! Author: randyr The Rio Grande units in the update do look a little off in the pics. But I assume they are custom decorated and/or computer color issues. However, I have several of the new Ski Train cars, having seen the real thing numerous times, the colors are great and I think spot on. As a life long Rio Grande fan who grew up in Denver, I am pleased and thankful to Rapido for a great Rio Grande product.

Author: bwyrick Were the Tempo cars and F40s actually painted in true Aspen Gold, or were they painted using "Anschutz Orange" like the post-merger DRGW engines?

Author: swingnose Thanks for replying, I have my TRE unit on order, and made a Facebook post to make sure my friends know about this and hopefully preorder one.
Fingers crossed!
