I ARGUED THA T CHOICE OF COLOR WITH ST AND REUESTED THAT THEY CHANGE THE FIRST PC GROUP COLOR TO CHANGE THE COLOR TO...THE MORE OOMMON OVER TIME OVEER TTIME BLACK WHICH THEY POLITELY DECLINED TO DO AS THEY WANTED TO DELIVER THEM IN "AS DELIVERED" COLORS WHICH THE EXPERTS THEY CONTACTED SAID WAS DGLE, NOT BLACK
I''M GLAD THEY CHANGED THEM BACK TO BLACK...... BOB THE 2021 PENN CENTRAL HO LAYOUT. Date: 02/19/21 12:29 Re: Scale Trains SD45's in PC arrived in Black not DGLE Author: ghemr What color is DGLE?

Date: 02/19/21 14:58 Re: Scale Trains SD45's in PC arrived in Black not DGLE Author: BCutter IIRC, DGLE is/was also known as Brunswick Green! This color (or colour if you prefer) has been the subject of more than one "discussion" on TO and other railroad-related sites over the deades! And as far as Bob and his capital letters, I thought that he was either (a) getting old and needed to see the letters or (b) had fat-fingered the Caps Lock key and didn't notice it!

------------------------------------------------------- > You also don't need to yell at us (using all caps) It's Pennsy's "Brunswick Green". NS so painted their PC heritage unit in that color and placed it next to their NYC heritage at Spencer Shops to show the difference. The difference is obvious when both units are clean. Not to beat a dead iron horse, but I saw both the PRR and the PC units in the early PC era. I could see the very subtle green in the PRR black, particularly in good sunlight. But on newly painted PC units, it might as well been black shoe polish. It was that black. In come color video footage of a newly repainted PRR F unit, I can see the subtle green in it. I'm not saying that PC units were never painted DGLE. And I know that "reportedly" there were PC painting and lettering diagrams that specified DGLE. But that's my story and I'll stick to it.

A REALLY GOOD ONE! and even though he actually got what he wanted.... he still didn't want to waste it. SR Date: 02/19/21 18:34 Re: Scale Trains SD45's in PC arrived in Black not DGLE Author: tomstp Maybe you fellas can tell us what the exact color of green came on the Rio Grande's boilers. (That ought to start some arguments) Yuk Yuk.

Date: 02/20/21 09:21 Re: Scale Trains SD45's in PC arrived in Black not DGLE Author: Lighter It seems to me that Norfolk and Western modelers are the only ones who don't complain about locomotive paint choices. Then again, I am reminded of blue and red locomotives.
Are there any locomotive models produced since the beginning of time that haven't had color critics? Date: 02/20/21 10:16 Re: Scale Trains SD45's in PC arrived in Black not DGLE Author: up833 These models probably didnt come with diesel engines ether so some modelers must be upset with having to settle for less.

I haven't read any such criticisms of diesel locomotives painted in the Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range scheme. However, maybe I've been looking for criticisms in all the wrong places. Edited 1 time(s). Good time for a Layout update though.
