Unusually long train on the DVT brings out the big motor
Author: birdman

A normal freight movement on the 1/2 inch to the foot scale Delaware Valley Traction Company ordinarily consists of a four axle motor and one or two cars. Today, the inbound freight had five cars to pick up.  That required double articulated box cab No. 4100 to be pressed into service. In the second photo, the cars have been delivered and 4100 is running back light to the yard.  The track in the foreground of photo 1 is that of the Bucks County Electric Railroad - a narrow gauge competitor of the DVT.  Motor 4100 is an actual 30 inches (or scale 60 feet) long.

Great photos and scratchbuilding.  Love the freelancing and that the box motor has both a pantograph and trolley-type poles for getting juice.
