Model Railroading > Can you identify the manufacturer of this locomotive?Date: 04/03/21 09:18 Can you identify the manufacturer of this locomotive? Author: BlackWidow The pictured locomotive is a UP C45ACCTe (from what is written on the cab) but I suspect whoever manufactured it has a different designation since I think that is a UP designation. It also has the more uncommon speaker in the fuel tank assembly. Can anyone tell me who manufactured this locomotive?

Tim Hanesworth Date: 04/03/21 09:40 Re: Can you identify the manufacturer of this locomotive? Author: BlackWidow Thanks. I know they went away a long time ago. Did someone buy them out or did they just shut down?

They were purchased by Athearn (or at least Athearn got their molds). Date: 04/03/21 18:35 Re: Can you identify the manufacturer of this locomotive? Author: SantaFeRuss sp8234 Wrote:

They run like a top but all have had their plastic gears replaced with metal gears from Northwest Shortline as well as Lok Sound decoders installed many years ago. Overland did a good job when they intrdoced them back then with the speakers in the fuel tank gave them a great sound. I used to have that UP 5450 and wonder if it's the same one. I sold it years ago.
