TCY 1393 City of Los Angeles

On August 18, 1938,  the Union Pacific and the Chicago & North Western introduced the CITY of LOS ANGELES. Service was between Chicago and Los Angeles. The 11 car train had the sleeper MORMAN TRAIL from the M10002 consist and the new Lounge Observation COPPER KING.
The Coach Yard will have this train available from all the friendly Coach Yard stores and dealers very soon. Stock # 1393, msrp $9,600.00 

The photo is a model of the City of Los Angeles M10002, Third train " . This train went into service in May, 1936.

You had me fooled on the Nostalgia Board.   But the bug-free pristine pilot should have been my first clue.  Beautiful shot!

How about a mystery location pic of the MoP River Eagle?  Meanwhile...my wallet lets out a muffled sob.

I have vivid memories and fortunate being around 5 years old visiting my Grand Parents at Clover Creek, Tooele county, Utah watching this yellow streak and steam locos along the LASP&SL.
What a thrill.  Beginning of my life time of following the UP RR.  In a few days now 88.

At about age 10 I visited a friend who had a Lionel O gauge model of this train. I was very impressed. Now that I see this much more detailed model I am even more impressed in my old age!
