Colorful RR Logo and Slogan on Plaster (Hydrocal)?
Author: wabash2800

I have a scratch-built bridge made of Hydrocal (to simulate concrete) that I would like to apply a color image (RR Slogan and Logo). Perhaps I could paint the affected area with a gloss, apply the decal and cover with a flat? I would probably try and weather the image too as if it had been there from a bygone era. Does anyone know if this would work? Will the gloss and flat work on the plaster?

Victor, that should work.  Just don't get it sopping wet when painting and flatning it.    To be safe mix up some hydrocal and try it out on a sample.  Then you will know what you can get away with.

Yes, I cast more than one bridge when first experimenting.  I can take one of the rejects and try it on that. I'll make my own decal and am wondering at what stage I should produce the faded lettering: do it with the decal or come up with something after the decal is applied?
