Yes, but worth every penny to those of who appreciate fine models. Cheers, Jim Posted from Android Date: 04/11/21 18:29 Re: Tangent’s new 40’ combination door boxcar. Author: kevink My MILW car arrived yesterday, only three days after ordering. Another home run from Tangent!

No. They ran on the DRGW but the railroad didn't own any. The DRGW didn't originate many, if any, lumber shipments. And these cars were built for lumber service. Any Rio Grande fan needs to get a copy of Jim Eagers Color Guide to Freight & Passenger Equipment (Morning Sun Books). I bought my copy around 1993 and have referenced it evaluate models. But if you only want D&RGW freight cars, you are denying yourself some prototypical models available that would be typical in Rio Grande freight trains. Cheers, Jim Edited 1 time(s). The only roads which had these cars were NP, MILW and UP. It doesn't seem there was any second hand market as the industry standard went from 40' cars to 50' cars. More than likely those 3 NP, MILW, and UP cars were regulars traveling across the D&RGW so are fair game for Rio Grande modelers. Date: 04/13/21 16:47 Re: Tangent’s new 40’ combination door boxcar. Author: fbe These cars were loaded with bundles of 2 by stud lumber going to areas of booking home construction especially bin the Midwest.
EDIT: I never typed "booking" in my post. That is something the smartphone software did on it's own. Same with "bin" instead of in. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/13/21 19:33 by fbe. Date: 04/13/21 19:01 Re: Tangent’s new 40’ combination door boxcar. Author: PHall fbe Wrote:

Didn't they also carry a lot of plywood loads too? Date: 04/14/21 11:31 Re: Tangent’s new 40’ combination door boxcar. Author: wabash2800 Why not correct it here?
