Model Railroading > Saturday on the SubDate: 10/09/21 07:11 Saturday on the Sub Author: M-420 (BN's Woodinville Sub, that is)
A pair of GP38-2's are are passing a work train on the siding as they depart Snohomish WA southbound with today's "Kirkland" turn. For the crew of this local, its just another day of pick ups and set outs for the various customers on the line.. This pair of geeps are particularly well suited for the task at hand. I remember reading 1980's model railroaders as a kid, and was less than impressed with the locomotives that lacked even rudimentary detail in most of the images then. These days even the RTR locomotives can be difficult to tell from prototype locomotives in the images. So with a few more details and some weathering, you can make some impressive models that are indistinguishable from the prototype.
