A fine looking beet load.  Any idea how many different beet shapes were used?

Those are excellent! I did a sugar beet truck some time ago and went through my wife's pantry of oddball grains to find something that was passable.
I suppose they could be yams or sweet potatoes too in a pinch!

Finally! What a great idea. When beet cars were announced (then not done, yet, hopefully soon), (not the IM ones), many of use started to look at how to load the cars. Now, if the modern ones are done, then we can have loads. Thank you for sharing.

I think you've posted what you used, but can you repeat it?  I'm working on a beat train too since i have nostagia for the beet trains that passed by Davis CA on the way to Sprekles by Woodland.

Cheers,
Jim

Not me, but someone with a 3D printer becoming a beet-nick. Is there a market for the "third extension type"  (seen here) I scratch built for IM or Red Caboose cars and scale beets loads?

ah, so it was about the extensions, not the beats.  Doh!  Friday night and my brain left work already.  Brother Thelonia Belgian Style Abby Ale is my beverage of choice this evening.

it's about both. 3D printed beets and extensions
Anyone hear about the person making 1/87 beets individually out of clay? A 3D beet may help him a bit I would imagine.

So what are the beats comprised of?   Isn't there a sead that is about the right size?

Need a couple handfulls of these "beets", suitably painted and weathered of course, to be spread along the right of way of the La Mesa Club's layout.
The beets always marked their trail with beets that had escaped their cars.

My cars leave there trails on layouts especially in yards. The 3D beets are printed beets from material used in printer, whatever that may be.

Speaking of beets here are a couple of the SE Idaho variety fresh from the field. All are shipped by truck now as UP isn't interested in them any more. I also would love to see something for HO scale.

And could even add a beet sized orange carrot which looked just like a beet would show up in eastern WA way back in the 60s when I hauled them for a farmer.
