Model Railroading > Moloco 50' ACF Hi-CubesDate: 11/26/21 12:34 Moloco 50' ACF Hi-Cubes Author: funnelfan Moloco just announced a run of ACF 50's double plug door boxcars. These cars were heavily used in paper service, especially on the west coast and could be often seen on the SP as well as the BN and ATSF. I remembers they were a regular car on the BNEUM trains between Portland and Eugene, and then on to Roseville and West Colton. They were also common at the Boise Cascade paper converting plant and the box plant in Salem, OR when I was a teenager. Been waiting for these cars for a long time!

I have never seen another company ask you to reserve a product without giving a price and am not sure what Moloco is thinking.

It simply guarantees you'll get the models you preorder. Usually Nick adds a small amount to the pre-ordered numbers so if you don't preorder, you can probably still get a few. The preorder thing helps Nick estimate demand and avoid ending up with too many unsold models. Posted from Android Date: 11/26/21 20:16 Re: Moloco 50' ACF Hi-Cubes Author: ChrisCampi mpe383 Wrote:

Nick Molo Date: 12/05/21 14:53 Re: Moloco 50' ACF Hi-Cubes Author: kangaroose I tell you what I'm thinking. Things have been changing dramatically the last couple of years in particular, and prices have come up for everyone, so nothing new. I'm not in the game to speculate what the costs will be, I'm just a small manufacturer asking for a fair price for an excellent product at the time of manufacturer to continue in business to the next SUPER accurate boxcar.
I care about the quality and accuracy of what i do, so sometimes this takes a bit longer to produce. I don;t release a product to just make schedules, I release it when it's ready and everything checks out correct. This sometimes means timelines are extended and this also means a higher potential of cost increases. I don;t ask for any money up front and no obligation right up to the end. In general i try to stay close to the current prices. Nick |
