Model Railroading > IBT boxcar in 2021Date: 11/28/21 12:35 IBT boxcar in 2021 Author: ghemr I lucked out when a few of these rare Exactrail cars appeared on Ebay recently! Indeed, I snapped one up as I like the simple paint scheme. Naturally though I had to add a bit more color to make it look more contemporary.......

Yes, I was wondering how you did that, too, without affecting the numbering and other markings on the car! Date: 11/28/21 14:42 Re: IBT boxcar in 2021 Author: wheel_slip This is awesome. Looks just right.

Well, I used two different products that "Jimmies" had suggested to me in the past. First I tried Modelflex Concrete Gray. Because I'm still intimidated (or ignorant?) of thinning and airbrushing acrylic paint I somewhat screwed up the car! To fix my mistake I then applied Rapido Proto Paint Flat Haze which helped alot! Thanks for the comments----perhaps some day I'll get it right............. Ghemr Date: 11/29/21 05:48 Re: IBT boxcar in 2021 Author: FiestaFoamer Lovely work. Those IBT boxcars are looking pretty ratty these days, and it seems like you've gotten it right. Also enjoy seeing it with those other cars -- that DJJ bathtub gon is something you might indeed see next to an IBT boxcar when out railfanning, and the two look great together.
