Model Railroading > CGFX Reefer in 2021Date: 12/01/21 20:47 CGFX Reefer in 2021 Author: ghemr After purchasing this Atlas Trincool reefer from my local hobby dealer, I researched a few railcar websites to see the current condition of these CEFX-marked cars. Since I wasn't finding any of them past 2015 it got me wondering what happened to this fleet of cars? Upon further research I found out they were remarked to CGFX (Cedar Grove Warehousing). So what the heck----I might as well do the same, right? Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the correct font (Futura Condensed Bold??) by the larger decal manufacturers. Luckily when I ran it past my friend at Carroll Avenue Shops (custom decal company) he was able to identify and create the exact letter G font.
Overall it was a fun project and it gave me an excuse to use my larger graffiti decals as well.......... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/01/21 21:02 by ghemr. Because nearly every Conductor, Brakeman, and Switchman out there has as one point ruined the left shoulder of their shirt brushing up against a grungy, greasy cut lever while "in-between" lacing up air-hoses. Great model as usual! ~ Mr. MRL Date: 12/01/21 22:34 Re: CGFX Reefer in 2021 Author: calsubd Nice job on it, where can we see the rest of the layout ?, TIA

Car looks great! Date: 12/02/21 09:25 Re: CGFX Reefer in 2021 Author: ghemr wheel_slip Wrote:

Those low cut levers are notorious for being used as a step to access the handbrake. Date: 12/02/21 09:40 Re: CGFX Reefer in 2021 Author: Jimmies The car looks real good. Kudos for finding a way to match the reporting mark font.

Do you model a certain locale or proto-freelance?
