Model Railroading > Testing Rapido F40PH on the San Joaquin.Date: 05/05/22 20:43 Testing Rapido F40PH on the San Joaquin. Author: ATSF_SDF40-2 Took the new Rapido F40 out for a test run on the Carquinez Model Railway society layout. This was also my first time running the Rapido Horizons. The lighting in both the cars and engine make for some great night shots.

Its a shame VIA doesnt have any Superliners as we might have beautiful quality Rapido Superliners instead of only one or two cars in only one or two phases when ever Kato decides to make them.

The last Walthers Superliner batch were pretty sweet. Ironically, I'm in the same boat with Amfleet 1's in phase three paint. Thankfully Athearn is planning on the California Cars in a few years so I can upgrade my Walthers stand ins. The Rapido products make a superb Capital Corridor train also. That's what mine represents. Thanks for posting the neat photo's. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 05/07/22 20:59 by ChrisCampi. Date: 05/07/22 19:47 Re: Testing Rapido F40PH on the San Joaquin. Author: SPDRGWfan I thought Walther's F40PH we're basically Trainline so I held out for this Rapido run. How have the Walther's F40PHs improved since the Train line released?

The pickups have been fixed and the units have a helical drive. All the F40s on the market have some dimensinal issues. |
