Model Railroading > 2 ft gauge F3Date: 05/07/22 17:21 2 ft gauge F3 Author: WrongWayMurphy This kind of crosses the line between models and full size trains, but I'll post here.
Swannee River Railroad of Lufkin Tx just built this 24" gauge F3 for a tourist railway. His normal builds are 14"-15"-16" gauge replacement for Zoo and similar style passenger fun railroads. He has done F's, GP's and steam outline for those but this is Todd's first 2 footer. Power is typically a Koehler diesel. Todd is a ex-UP guy who started this business a few years ago and it has taken off. He has shipped his trains worldwide. is a good dude and stands by his work. He has partners that participate in construction of engines and passenger cars, but the designs are all his. Lufkin is in deep East Texas on SP's rabbit line Shreveport -Houston, about an hour south of Tyler. Date: 05/07/22 17:33 Re: 2 ft gauge F3 Author: krm152 That is awesome!

Nathan Posted from iPhone Date: 05/07/22 20:45 Re: 2 ft gauge F3 Author: WP921 This is a terrific looking engine. A Diesel Prime Mover was mentioned as typical power on most of these builds. Will this be Diesel-Electric or Diesel-Mechanical?
