Yes, there was a great large scale model of an E8 in the blue and silver demonstrator colors that I believe did come from EMD. IIRC there were no side panels on one side so the truss framing and all interior components were visible. Here is a photo of it: https://americanhistory.si.edu/collections/search/object/nmah_843751 The Smithsonian also has EMD models of the FT 103, Reading GP30 5514 and CNJ 1000 (obviously not an EMD). Apparently some or all of these are currently displayed at the B&O Transportation Museum in Baltimore. The model in this photo looks like an EA, probably Santa Fe or B&O.
