RCM / ScaleTrains Event tomorrow
Author: funnelfan

Had some fun at the operating session today. Here are a few scenes, just a few of the trains that were ran. We have a number of CNW fans in the club, so yellow and green power is a common sight on the layout.

Tomorrow (Monday, July 25th) River City Modelers will be hosting a Meet and Greet event with ScaleTrains at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to come to the event where refreshments will be served.
Visit us at 1130 East Sprague Ave. Spokane, WA.

1. My Keystone Turn switching out the slaughterhouse at Smeltz.

2. Kevin's Grain Train closing in on Quincy on the upper level of the layout.

3. Keystone Turn with log loads heading for the sawmill at the end of the branch.

5. Andy's Philmont Turn switching the paper mill at the end of the Philmont Branch.

6. Bill's short train passing Cedar Springs heading for Easton Yard.

My Cedar Springs Turn hides out in the yard at Cedar Springs while Andy's Philmont Turn comes off the Philmont Branch.

Thank you for sharing your photos!  That is a neat bridge in photo #3.  What is the official model designation for the B unit (I'm guessing it's converted from a U30C) in photo #2?

That would have been BN's one off U30CB wreck rebuild. BN made a handful of cabless units from wrecked units in the 1980's including at least three SD40-2's, a SD40, GP38-2, and a SW1000.

Thank you for sharing Ted Curphey Funnelfan
I don't say it enough but i appreciate you and others posting photos, whether model RRs, historic stuff (SP lives) or current stuff.
As a near shut in, I appreciate the shares and stories. I wish I could post some stuff, but what I have tried to put up always
fails; so I've kind of resigned myself to being an observer commenter. But to all of you all, a big thanks for keeping the spark alive.

Nice! I figured the model was a product of pure modeler's license, as I had not read about and seen a photo of the prototype.

I was unaware of that specific locomotive, but it's certainly consistent with the other no-cab wreck rebuilds BN did. Cool stuff.

Nice stuff Ted. Did Scale Trains share any neat toys with you?

Indeed, it is!  I recognized it immediately.  This is the first time that I've seen a model of that engine.  Well done!

Yes, they had samples of the new GP30 among other things. But personally I had no time to look at anything, I had to get to work for a all night run on the railroad. This is a photo from a friend.
