Kicking Horse Pass, in N Scale
Author: WrongWayMurphy

I just returned from a week in BC-AB Canada and spotted this nice layout
in the Field, BC visitors center.  It was not operating but looks to be an
operational layout, though I supposed it's possible it isn't and there is
no track past the tunnel portals.

We rode these actual Kicking Horse Pass tracks a few days before
on the Rocky Mountaineer train.  I was with three non-railfans so there
was no pursuit of trains real or model.

Pretty cool. Somewhere I have a Pentrex vhs video of a cab ride over Kicking Horse Pass that is pretty good. If you could find a newer media version it might be worth while for you.

It looks like Greg Scholl also did a cab ride video

Best dome car experience I have ever had. But that was at 1:1 scale.

It's too bad it wasn't operating.  It is, in fact, an operating display layout.

Does anyone know when this was built?
I was there in 2008, but somehow missed this. (The layout that is, we definitely saw the spiral tunnels!)
We even ate lunch in Field BC.

Way back 1997?, at the summit of Rogers Pass was a visitor center with a increadable model of the pass, with a inactive Z gauge railroad,
wow been 30+ years, time flies. oh Canada, best 55 rolls of film i ever exposed
dave jakubiec. Not a bad shot,
