If memory serves me correctly, the steam locomotive was supposed to go to the Arborway, TT and Northwestern, a 5 or so mile private railroad near Rolla, MO. The family of John Woods shut railroad down and the entire railroad has been removed from the property

It looks unused but appears to be in place. Google street view photos of the station and roundhouse. Google Satellite view shows the rails.

I saw pics of it being tested minus the boiler , etc on the ATT&NW. Wondered how it would have looked double heading with Wood's 4-8-4 on his substantial railroad and how many cars it could have handled by itself.

All of the railroad was pulled up this Spring. The only engine left is the 801, and it will be moved to secure storage in Wisconson. Both the 801 and the 4-12-2 are for sale. The 4-12-2 was going to the Arborway. But was and always has been for sale. It is a monster of a engine that requries 200 foot min radius curves which the Arborway had. Some of the details on the 4-12-2, 22" drivers, power reverse, air operated bell and fire doors, twin air pumps, oil fired front mounted camera with moniter in the cab.  The engine is truly a work of art!  As to what it would pull, even the Arborway did not have enough rolling stock to strain that beast. Or the 801 for that matter even on the two percent grades. I was a regular fireman on the 801 and got to start some heavy trains on the two percent. The 801 would dig in and just walk away.  I really miss it.   Mitch
