Model Railroading > Tehachapi Sugar BeetsDate: 09/13/22 16:41 Tehachapi Sugar Beets Author: dmaffei A few members of the La Mesa club invited a few of us to attend a open run this past weekend. Of course I took the beets. On Sunday afternoon I increased the size of my beet train from siding length to all 64 cars as the traffic was minimal. We first ran downhill from Tehachapi, then ran up from Bakersfield to Summit using a powered helper on the rear behind the caboose as I remember seeing back in the day. Video is the decent with the train traversing the loop in dynamic brake and the photo is the train climbing out of Caliente with the rear helper. Betsy (Liz Allen) was also in attendance with her amazing beet train. Managed to photograph the trains passing at Ilmon. I'll process the photos this week and post.
Want to Thank the crew at the La Mesa club for their hospitality and assistance during the weekend. A top notch crew. Dave You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! Date: 09/13/22 17:14 Re: Tehachapi Sugar Beets Author: tracktime Absolutely outstanding!

Date: 09/13/22 17:43 Re: Tehachapi Sugar Beets Author: WAF OMG, Dave, you outdid yourself. Just like the good all days IV beets for the SJ Valley. You should have taken off two of those units and cut them in as a helper
