Wacky solution to GE bass sound.
Author: zoohogger

When you have too much time on you hands you do strange things. I was repowering  a 50 year old Alco models GE U33c. When it was working I had a thought. How much noise can I make. Although ungainly at best, this is the perfect amount of sound for the old GE.

Now that's what I call a high and wide load!

Ha ha. Perfect!

I was thinking about that as I was operating my new sound equipped Rapido PA-1.

Sounds like a plan, if you model in G Scale!

Probably the better choice. Of course I would end up single if my railroad was bigger. Hmmmmm.

Exactly why I'm not a fan of on-board sound. Those little tinny speakers just don't do it for me.

Whenever I get to that point (and I'm a longggg way off yet) I'll be looking into speaker systems and avoiding the on-board sound altogether.

Fun experiment! May be a bit unprototypical, but it sounds great! ;-)

Please give us another video to hear what the horn sounds like! That's a common complaint from me on onboard sound. The horn is not loud and dynamic enough.

Here ya go. There is distortion, even a low volume, so it's hard to tell if it was recorded perfectly.

Thanks. That is much better than what we get in HO.

Physics, pure simple physics.
