Fantastic! Posted from Android Date: 09/17/22 22:07 Re: Beet meet at Ilmon Author: Roadmaster Those are some fantastic scenes in photos 4 and 5 and at Walong!

Dennis Date: 09/18/22 10:28 Re: Beet meet at Ilmon Author: dmaffei Didn't take as many photos this time as I had a train to run, but did take more iPhone videos. I should have given location of photos besides Ilmon. Photo 4 is east bound at Bealville, photo 5 is the west end of Caliente siding, photo 6 is the loop of coarse. We stopped the train on the grade with helper for still photos. This video is a three way meet at the west end of Caliente with Rick Selby's incredible SP cement train with a slow motion look at some of his cement cars. It's just to much fun to photograph that layout.

I'm glad Tim Costello and I could host you and the others for an incredible weekend on the La Mesa Tehachapi Pass layout. The pictures turned out great. Javier Cervantes Castle Rock , CO Date: 09/20/22 08:06 Re: Beet meet at Ilmon Author: 6432 Dave, it doesn’t matter which layout you run your beet train; La Mesa, Richmond or Crockett it looks fantastic. The meet with Liz Allen’s beet train was amazing. Reminds me of when I lived in the Central Valley. Thanks for posting.
John B Posted from iPhone Date: 09/22/22 22:03 Re: Beet meet at Ilmon Author: johnsweetser Non-prototypical features of La Mesa's version of Bealville (photo 4):
In the 1950s, there were no lane markings on Bealville Road including in the vicinity of the crossing. The water tank at Bealville was painted black, not a brownish color. The eucalyptus tree (or trees) south of the water tank did not lean at an absurd angle. Date: 09/23/22 05:24 Re: Beet meet at Ilmon Author: SPDRGWfan johnsweetser Wrote:

A layout cannot be correct for all time frames. Date: 09/23/22 11:22 Re: Beet meet at Ilmon Author: PHall johnsweetser Wrote:

So when do you plan on going down to San Diego and helping them fix these "errors"? Date: 09/24/22 18:47 Re: Beet meet at Ilmon Author: WAF PHall Wrote:

Ha Date: 09/25/22 14:35 Re: Beet meet at Ilmon Author: johnsweetser They have long known about two of the inaccuracies (regarding the leaning tree, I noticed it for the first time in this thread).
