I got curious after seeing this photo. It isn't the same as the movie's trailer. That was a 1953 36-foot Redman Trailers "New Moon" model.

I don't know where the "aerodynamic" idea came from but this is about as far away from "aerodynamic" as an RV could be.

When interviewing a railroader, I was surprised to find that campers and trailers were built during the steam era. He recounted materials being shipped in and finished product being shipped out by rail on the Wabash at Topeka, Indiana.
