Saturday at the engine house
Author: brv200

Hi all,

my engine house diorama is still in progress. It has got two sides.....one "European" and one "North American". The diorama is just meant as a platform to present selected models out of my collection. As I've written so many times before, MY fun is mainly to collect HO DC models after North American prototypes. I enjoy all the distinguishing details no matter if its just the paint scheme or some technical related appearance. So my photographs shall focus on the models rather than the diorama.

The pictures I added show both sides of my the diorama. Additionally I attached some C&O and CN photographs.

Thanks for your interest.

Franz

Thanks Franz.  At first glance the three DB locos seem to be identical but closer inspection shows the one at left has a blue roof and the one at far right seems to have a red logo under the engineer's window.

Joe,
regarding your remark.......that's absolutely correct. All of them belong to the German V160 family, all of them are general purpose diesel-hydraulics which could be used for freight and passenger service..

It's comparable with the GE Dash 8/9 - ES 44 AC line.

Class 216 (track 3) had a 16 cyl. 1900 hp engine and steam heating
Class 215 (track 2) had a 12 cyl. 2500 hp engine and steam heating
Class 218 (track 1) had a 12 cyl. 2800 hp engine and electric heating.

So the overall appearance was similar but their internal technical construction was very different.

Greetings
Franz

Wow. More than just a backdrop, it is a beautiful model. Looking for the Kadee springs to be sure it is not the prototype!
