Good to know that Rapido is being consistent. Eventuually the cars will look good and run good.
Take a look at the couplers too, the early runs had flash at a casting seam. Wouldn't couple.

Also have some on order from Rapido.
Trying to figure out how to track the shipment. Most tracking sites tell you when to expect the shipment, this one doesn't.

Went to Bakersfield Show last week. Picked up 5 mint in box old Roundhouse bulkhead kits. Cost was $25.

Hmm, Lombard doesn't list these on their website yet, but everybody seems to be getting them.

Cool story, it added a lot to the conversation.   It is always nice to hear about people buying toys in the land of scale models.

Yes, even "Scale Models" are toys. The point I was making was that some (many?) model railroaders don't insist on every possible detail like sound units in Athearn $100 Genesis cabooses (sounds of the conductor yelling at the brakeman, slack-action and toilets flushing were the only sounds I heard in a caboose!) If one cannot buy into model railroading without spending uber bucks the hobby will further decline. $50+ "Scale Model" break far more easily.

It's a Candian prototype, they fit that time before the longer center beam cars took over the freight car world. Maybe it's worth noting that the first run of Walthers Canadian bulkhead flat cars had the same issue with the bulkhead being loose. The two models should look great when all is said and done.

Yes, more will be said than needs to be done.

Lombard doesn’t post everything to their website immediately. Some items sell out locally so they never get posted.

Of course they do, the more details the more there is to break.  However there was no reason for your point in this thread.  No one cares if you can't afford to play in the higher detailed market.

And this little tid bit added what to the conversation?

C'mon guys, it's a hobby. It's a pretty broad hobby as well.

You just need to be comfortable. Run 'em if ya got'em.

Someday you miight realize that the MDC/Athearn bulkhead flat is a foobie for all the schemes and doesn't actually match any prototype cars.

Yes, I know many Athearn/MDC are "Foobies" but they look good to me from three feet+ away. They are less likely to break unless trashed on the club house floor and are often $5 a piece. Scale model railroading is entirely an illusion only some are more "illuded" than others. BTW, I also buy Rapido Trains to cover the prototypes I like that are not already found in the market in some form.

It a was a no doubt wasted attempt to keep him/her from posting similar stuff about his toys in the next thread concerning models.  It was pretty obvious what it added, I guess except for you. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yep, that is it.  😂

Again, it was obvious what my point was, except for you.  Way to resort to swearing, keeping it classy.

Best thing to come out of this thread.

Boy, if I understood this when I was thirty, my life would have been so much less stressful.

Well done,
