Tampa Northern Railroad paint scheme
Author: SALGUY

Attached you will find the final artwork for the decals for my Tampa Northern Railroad.  This set of decals is to be used in conjunction with MicroScales stripe set for Seaboard Air Line diesel locomotives.

I've also attached a photo that shows what our power and cabeese will look like.

Primary power is going to be GP38-2s and SD38s and SD38-2s.

Be sure to follow the Tampa  Northen Railroad.

Very sharp! I don't know about the orange number boards though. Would a "real" railroad be willing to incur the extra expense of maintaining a "non-standard" color?

Great scheme, easily seen to be influenced by its parent road.

Clinchfield did. It's only Plexiglas.

Nice. Is that Aberdeen & Rockfish slate blue or another shade?

You might think about silver trucks. You could do a sample drawing with everything else as is. Regardless, I think it's sharp!

Very nice. I like the fact that it's kind of a heritage scheme in that it brings out a little of the Seaboard Air Line. How about a little emblem on the nose?

Victor Baird

Edit: I see that Seaboard didn't put an emblem on the nose. Me bad.

For many years the Clinchfield had yellow number boards.  Also, what's the extra expense?

I'm using Scalecoat B&O Royal Blue as the primary color.

That's the exact intent.  It's clear that the SAL is the parent company.  I'm even going as far as using SALs standard 3 chime forward horn.

That's the whole idea.  On my railroad the Tampa Northern will handle yard and local switching activities.  The parent company, the Seaboard Air Line, will handle through freight and passenger operations.

The locomotive roster for the TN will consist of GP38-2s and SD38 and SD38-2s.  Im thinking i may also patch out a couple of SAL units to the TN.  Perhaps a couple of old Alco RS3s....
