Model Railroading > SP's Big Deck with a little BehindDate: 10/16/24 14:54 SP's Big Deck with a little Behind Author: funnelfan SP 2-10-2 hustles a way freight down the mainline on the Olympic Model Railroad Society (OMRS) layout in February of 2012. SP crews nicknamed the 2-10-2's "Big Decks", short for Decapod. A lot of them were used in short range services like way freights and helper pools, so they often had small tenders, albiet not quite as small as the one on my model, a Bachmann 2-10-2 with a Vandy tender. I think I will replace this "stand in" model with a brass locomotive someday.
