Model Railroading > West Coast Trains & SMRRS Open House, 11/16/24Date: 11/17/24 09:38 West Coast Trains & SMRRS Open House, 11/16/24 Author: FiveChime Yesterday, on my way back from Alta, I stopped by West Coast Trains in Chicago Park, north of Colfax
and Sacramento Model Railroad Historical Society layout just off Winter Street I-80 exit in northern Sacramento. West Coast Trains is a hidden gem located in a large former Nevada County Narrow Gauge freight shed. The owner buys old collections of all sorts of model trains and sells a variety of things in the large building. Noted yesterday, was a big assortment of HO cars with metal wheeled trucks and Kadee couplers going for less than $10 per car. The SMRHS has nice HO and HO narrow gauge layout open to the public yesterday & today. Two photos attached. The SMRHS layout has a number of famous scenes depicted on the HO layout, including the SP Davis passenger station, and the WP's Honeymoon Tunnels and Keddie Wye. - Norm |
