WifiTrax has a new product out that I definitely need to get for my little home switching layout. Its a Wifi interface for NCE systems. Two products really, one that is used on a NCE Cab Bus and the other to replace the NCE PowerCab interface turning it Wifi interface. The WFD-30 adds wifi via the cab bus, and the WFD-31 replaces the PowerCab interface.

Interesting product line, lots to read.

There's more than just those two products, there's other NCE related conversions. Have to read more about it. This was on YT and I meant to read up on it, just in time for a New Years resolution.

I have the WFD-30 module and set up is as simple as plugging it into an open port and connecting to the WiFi signal.  It works awesome and is much more reliable than the radio NCE interface I had.  Each module will support up to 4 WiFi throttles and I'm currently using both the TCS UWT-50 and UWT-100 WiFi throttles.

One clarification though, WifiTrax is not owned or affiliated with TCS, they are separate companies.  WifiTrax is based in Australia and has a few vendors (including TCS...) here in the US and Canada.

I added one of these modules to my NCE system as well. Install and set up were a breeze, and since I had a spare router sitting around I set it up for a network for just Wi-fi throttles. During a test night we had 7 phones or tablets running trains, but #8 wouldn't connect reliably. Well worth the money to expand the system!

I found it on the TCS website, but it was only after I posted about it that I realized it was another manufacture.

The WFD-30 and WFD-31 WiFi to NCE Cab Bus Interfaces are not new products.  These products from WiFiTrax have been out for a few years now.  

They are great, and I am very happy I chose these stead of traditional radio for DCC.

I use TCS UWT-100 and UWT-50 WiFi throttles to connect to my NCE system via my WFD-30.
