Model Railroading > ClassOneModelWorks wheel loadDate: 02/23/25 18:53 ClassOneModelWorks wheel load Author: CSX2605 I finally finished and photographed my wheel load project from Classonemodelworks. I put the load on a Scale Trains/Fox Valley flatcar and cutting some plastic off the shipping enclosure enabled me to still use the box for storage/travel. Weathered up the railcar then I weathered the wheels using Red Iron Oxide Shade Pan Pastel then dullcoted the wheels. I then used light rust wash from Vallejo to give the tread that oxidized look from being out in the elements. These look more like the new wheels I see in yards and on the flatcars.

How's that Fox Valley Models car?? Been lookin' to possibly pick up the SP version... Alex Wilson Castro Valley, CA ApproachAspect's Flickr Photos ![]() Date: 02/24/25 03:18 Re: ClassOneModelWorks wheel load Author: CSX2605 Your car looks great!
The Fox Valley car is really nice. Great detail, which I managed to knock off a cut lever and air hose. The car came with chain(40 links per inch) and several yellow load binders. I used the chain and 2 load binders. The deck is molded plastic and not real wood. Scale Trains had a sale on them last summer for $29.99 which I thought was a steal. It's a very detailed model and makes a great addition to the fleet. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/24/25 03:20 by CSX2605. Yes, I bought two more packages of 36" wheels. Needed 52 wheels to complete the model and they came 30 in a package. That is how I see the loads in real life. Shot this one here in the yard just a few miles from where I live. It was going to a railcar repair facility. ![]() Date: 03/01/25 07:34 Re: ClassOneModelWorks wheel load Author: Jimmies This looks terrific. Really nicely done.
