Is there a CV for this? Did not see it listed, I know I could / can just hit function 8, TIA, Ed

Sure. Easiest way is to enable Quiet mode using CV 113. Simply enter a value between 1 and 255. This value represents time in seconds. This will shut down the sound if your loco is sitting around not doing anything after so many seconds pass ( idling, all lights off) and will also remain quiet when the power is first applied. For reference, I set mine to 200.

The other way is to explore auto start in CV 114. Auto start is usually defaulted to on. CV 114 does lots of stuff, so I'll let you research that on your own.

CV113  worked for me set to 3, loco turns on with light on
