Model Railroading > Livin’ Large with a GE 44 tonnerDate: 06/26/25 06:46 Livin’ Large with a GE 44 tonner Author: WrongWayMurphy I'm at train Mountain in Oregon this week and there's a lot of really cool things here, but to me this one really stands out. This fellow scratchbuilt a GE 44 toner and 3-D printed a complete interior. He said he got inside a real 44 locomotive to get details and dimensions. He even 3-D printed a pair of gloves, a pipe, and a lunchbox. It is 1.5" scale.
I did not ask him to flip it over to inspect the underbody detail. ![]() ![]() Date: 06/26/25 07:12 Re: Livin’ Large with a GE 44 tonner Author: boejoe Neat. Pipe tobacco can looks like Prince Albert brand.

Years ago we had a local live steamer member who built a GG-1 (electric with batteries) and several PRR passenger cars running on 3-1/2" track. The dining car was detailed with red and white tablecloths. He said the tablecloths were the only interest and sole contribution his wife made to his hobby! They seperated the grand parade into two classes today is steam engines only and tommorow electric and gas powered engines. Am off soon to see if the Back Shop where trains are repaired survied the night. Its been one heck of a meet as I take care of it along with voulenteers to make sure its there for anything which breaks down. And there have been some major repairs this year taking place. To those who dont know or dont understand what is taking place go to the Train Mountain Face Book page to see all the videos of it. Its been really fun for me this year long hours but well worth it.
