Model Railroading > santafedan?Date: 07/04/25 13:11 santafedan? Author: wabash2800 His last post was about 2 months ago. He is getting up there in his years and was getting rid of his public display layout that he took out for Christmas at a local bank every year. Dan has a large home Santa Fe layout. Did he just drop Trainorders? Anyone know if he is OK? He lives in Southern Indiana.

Vic, I am still around. I had some back surgery and I has taken a long time to get back to form. I have been writing for a blog in England for the past 18 months. An entirely new and different group. A lot of 4x8 layouts crammed with details and track. Good work often just cluttered. They have little room for anything else. I also gave up the ILS presidency..!0 years of putting cats in a box is enough. Thanks for asking." Victor Baird Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/04/25 14:55 by wabash2800. Generally space is much less than in the US. They have to be creative with the space they have. The irony is that model railroading is much more popular in England per capita. My wife is from northern England and when we were over we visited a club that had a pretty large space in the attic of an industrial building where there were probalby 5 or 6 modest sized layouts, including a G scale, several HO and most were American stylie trains. We also visited a guy who used to post at the Model Railroader magazine forums - he lived in Sunderland which was in the general area of that club. He actually had a basement - not a pretty basement but he had space where he had a couple layouts. One of them was the Virginian which was featured in Model Railroader magazine. Figures, the UK invented trains as the world has come to known them--200 hundred years ago come September 27, 2025. Sadly this same year King Charlie has decided to dump the Royal Train in 2027. |
