Model Railroading > Last of a long lineDate: 07/27/25 15:05 Last of a long line Author: railstiesballast Todd Sullivan, in his Color Guide to NP Freight and Passenger Equipment, identifies these 36000 40 foot, 10' door box cars as the last cars manufactured by the Northern Pacific in their Brainard, MN shops.
This car started as a 3d kit by Bridge Line (?) for a similar 40ft box, but with an 8'door for a Leigh Valley car with some Tichy ladders and a set of Kadee 10 ft doors. Here it is out working on my SWP, plus a photo of it in progress. Date: 07/27/25 15:43 Re: Last of a long line Author: RailThunder Nice work! So these cars primarily hauled lumber products on the NP?
Date: 07/27/25 16:25 Re: Last of a long line Author: railstiesballast I really don't knnow what traffic they usually carried but forest products would be my first guess too.
