Model Railroading > Winchester & Middletown Model RR GroundbreakingDate: 07/29/25 20:11 Winchester & Middletown Model RR Groundbreaking Author: holiwood The Winchester & Middletown Model Railroad Association will break ground for our new building August 12 at 4PM. We will be building our new permanent home in the new town park in Middletown, VA. We are the successor to the Wichester Model Railroad Club that lost it's building in Winchester, VA several years ago. We were able to stay together and after many delays are ready to start on a new building that will be a replica of the old Middletown B&O Depot with a small museum and big room for our train layout.

Date: 07/30/25 11:43 Re: Winchester & Middletown Model RR Groundbreaking Author: holiwood The train room will be 35 X 60. 12' tall, no posts or windows. 2 doors from the depot section and double emergency exit doors at other end.
A local builder is donating the complete shell and exterior of the building, we have to complete the inside. Being able to connect to the town sewer was a major hurdle, at first we were going to have to buy a very expensive septic system.
