$25 for 100 painted HO scale figures, I'm sold...
Author: MrMRL

A rather new player in the market around for the past 10 years or so, Evemodel out of Hong Kong caught my attention recently. Primarily for their ability to deliver cheap pre-painted "filler" figures for my club's layout. $19.99 + $5.00 shipping to So Cal, for 100 pre-painted figures, 40 standing, 60 seated. Two of each figure, so basically 50 figures x 2, so spread them out a bit. Still, the quick ability to populate the layout's station and sidewalk scenes with "RTR" $0.25 figures was a nice feature.

They produce way more than just HO scale people too. Your mileage may vary.

That is better than most I've seen on Ebay, who are Chinese based and only have black hair and are very poorly painted. You end up having to repaint most if not all. I find it's better to buy 1:100 scale people to put in vehicles and passenger trains as they fit much easier, but many times you are still doing some hacksaw surgery to make them fit in vehicles.

Yeah, it is still a majority of galls in skirts and dresses, and guys in suits and coats. but there are a peppering of gray and blonde haired examples mixed in the set. A hell-of-a lot easier to take care of select paint touch-ups to "Americanize" things, if one prefers.

*edit, need to load up that lighted lounge or parlour car with dozens of excited passengers? Sure is a lot easier to "amend" these figures to fit those cramped interior designs...

They are a lot better dressed than the slobs I saw at LaGuardia last week.

Thanks for the heads up though, I am working on a 1948 version of theĀ
MKT/Frisco Texas Special and populating the cars with well to do Southwesterners
will be a breeze with these, even with touch up work.

A number of my passengers and engine crews are " amputees" because of long legs and short seats :-(

Thanks for sharing. What is that clear, sticky stuff you can put under the feet of your figures and be able to move them around?

Victor, you are probably referring to Woodland Scenics "Scenic Accents Glue". Comes in a short white bottle with black cap and a brush applicator. Drys clear but tacky in 10-15 min. There are other "Tacky Glue" alternatives as well.

I'm lazy and just use the clear plastic packaging the figures came in, not sticky at all. I just roughly cut the clear plastic packaging into little 1/4" squares and super glue the figures to the squares. Left over clear plastic packaging from other model railroading products can also be used, long as it's flat, clear, and thin yet sturdy. After a while, the reflective sheen is covered with a thin layer of dust, helping the plastic blend into the surrounding scenery. I guess a light spray of dullcote could create the same effect.
