Model Railroading > Trainfest announcementsDate: 10/31/25 07:24 Trainfest announcements Author: mcdeo Might was well start the thread now. What exciting announcements can we expect, hope for, or want to see. Others at the show can post them for us that can't attend.
ST has said they have 8 projects to show case, some being announced already, some new items. Bowser already announced their C424/425's Rapido made all kind of annoucements last week, and another one about an hour ago. Kato? BLI? Atlas? Athearn? I hope they don't, since they are already years behind in what they have announced. Others? I model HO so just follow that scale mostly. Thank you. Mike ONeill Okahumpka, FL Edited 3 time(s). Date: 10/31/25 12:12 Re: Trainfest announcements Author: gandydancer4 Just want to say that I have attended every "Trainfest" show since 1989 and won't go back to the Baird Center. It's Downtown, too crowded, difficult to get in and out and just isn't the same as it is out at the Fairgrounds. Maybe next year. As far as expectations, the model producers are gonna have to come up with some really GREAT stuuf if they intend to out do themselves. I would like to see "Scale Trains" come out with the UP U50C. Same trucks as the Turbines and NO ONE has done them in HO scale EXCEPT Tom Marsh at Overland Models back in the day. God only knows what Rapido will do. I would like to see "Class One" do something more than what they have come out with so far. More modern models please? As for everyone else, your guess is as good as mine.

It's the best show in the middle of the country, accessible producers, super variety of vendors, great vibe, one of a kind. The cost to rent the Baird Center for Trainfest is $30,000 less than State Fair Park. I agree that State Fair Park was a better venue but what can you do . If you are at Trainfest this weekend I will be at the METRO Model Railroad Club Layout. Say hello.

Location and calendar can make huge differences in already huge costs. Date: 11/01/25 07:14 Re: Trainfest announcements Author: atx_railfan ScaleTrains announcements:
- Gunderson 3250 2-bay covered hopper (HO+N Scale) - BSC F68DH flatcar (N scale) - GE/Wabtec AC44C4M (HO+N Scale) - New run of GE/Wabtec AC44C6Ms (HO+N Scale) - New run of GE ET44ACs (N Scale) - GSC 53'6" flatcar with 35' dry vans (S Scale) Those Gunderson 3250 covered hoppers are long overdue in the market. Now if we could just get some aggregate cars to run with them ;) Date: 11/01/25 09:49 Re: Trainfest announcements Author: tracktime Also announced:
