Model Railroading > Rolling Through the Sierra Mountains via Crockett.

I took a very kind offer from fellow TO member fivechime and we meet up with Boilingman at the Crockett Model Railroad this morning for a few pleasant hours running trains.

1- Fivechimes interesting lashup rolling through this gorgeous truss bridge.
2- Boilingman's fabulous Mckeen rail car.
3- My pair of crud's and C-50-9 running the yard in Sparks, NV.

For my part, I got to test run these two SW1500's that are Blunami equipped. Interesting experience. The units are so easy to consist and make adjustments on the fly. Outside of one moment were I lost contact with the lead loco while building up my train, they worked flawless to the point where I think I may have fat fingered something to lose contact.  I can definitely say that while I got much better using the phone throttle, I absolutely prefer a tactical throttle. It was a fun experiment for me. The great thing about Blunami is that it doesn't make a difference what the club your at uses for DCC control, as Blunami bypasses all that and talks directly to the decoder, so this is a pair I can take anywhere.

Much thanks to the fine and friendly Crockett folks who let me run today. Even got boost from a trailing former Rio Grande KM when I bit of more then I could chew by picking up six cement cars in Sacramento then stalling on the ruling grade heading back up the hill to Sparks. Wish I would have got a video of THAT.
