Model Railroading > Replicas of but a memory... (NEB&W)Date: 03/17/26 00:54 Replicas of but a memory... (NEB&W) Author: conrailfan76 I live in Arkansas. I had no physical connection, personal stake, or any related relation to the New England, Berkshire, & Western.
But I would be lying if I said it didn't affect my life. In 2005 or 2006, Grandpa would record a bunch of programs for me to watch on VHS tapes. I was.enamoired witu them frok train wrecks to the history of the 4-4-0, there was a bit of everything. One of these programs was The Train Show on RFDTV. There was 3 episodes he recorded for me: a product showcase, Caledonia Farm 1812 Bed and Breakfast, and most vital to this post, the New England, Berkshire, & Western. This mofel railroad, with its immaculate detail and rich history, was what gave me the allure to model trains at a young age. I was already in the trains, sure, but to see a whole world in miniature, and the thought I could have such a world in my grasp... I wanted model trains. Fast forward to today. We are now about half a year postmortem, and the NEB&W is nowbut a fleeting memory. Grandpa passed away 7 years ago, and he never got to see the caboose that my friend gifted to me from there. I wanted to do something in memory of that wonderful, absolutely spectacular layout, so I set about planning. And, plan I did. Long story short, here area few completed freight cars I did. Some replicas, other completely custom. I plan to do more, and so the memory of the NEB&W shall live on. Date: 03/17/26 00:56 Re: Replicas of but a memory... Fun fact, I was also gifted other rolling stock from the layout. Guess which one is it, haha.

I don't know the status of the club today. Maybe someone else knows. Date: 03/17/26 07:16 Re: Replicas of but a memory... (NEB&W) Author: conrailfan76 The NEB&W is gone, as I stated. RPI terminated the last of the building last year, and all cut up sections were given away, and many items were sold off and given to present and former allumini. Hence how I got the caboose.

I'd mark it as BO until it can be corrected. TAH Date: 03/17/26 09:31 Re: Replicas of but a memory... (NEB&W) Author: conrailfan76 Fun fact, that was intentional as the original car I replicated there also had a shifted pipe load. One has to wonder what kind of story that car went through en route.

A couple of the guys from the NEB&W were responsible for getting modelers into more accurately modeling transition era freight cars.

Probably shifted as a result of a hard coupling. Maybe at one of PRR or NYC's hump yards. Arved Grass Long Beach, WA |
