Model Railroading > Livin’ Large, near DallasDate: 03/30/26 06:08 Livin’ Large, near Dallas Author: WrongWayMurphy We just completed a meet on the far northern edge of DFW, almost into Oklahoma,
sheesh the area i am referring to keeps expanding and people keep moving in and it's size of the Dallas area where I grew up is amazing now. Here is a sample of only a few trains I shot. Mine is the yellow/black T&P GP9 and the T&P steamer with green boiler jacket (formerly belonging to Trainorders.com member TomSTP). Date: 03/30/26 06:13 Re: Livin’ Large, near Dallas Author: WrongWayMurphy Can't run them both so the diesel is parked. Later I let a couple of
kids run the geep for a few hours. Cotton Belt well represented. On the real Cotton Belt, these are the same two engines. The road only had one GP7 and was a passenger engine painted in Daylight colors, after pax service ended was regeared for freight duty and painted black widow. Even later was painted scarlet & gray but no model of that version. Pic three is of the turntable with no engine on it. Date: 03/30/26 06:20 Re: Livin’ Large, near Dallas Author: WrongWayMurphy My train with all homemade freight cars.
So many steamer engines we had to double up on the steaming bays Ladies in waiting, a Garrett, my ten wheeler, and a SP mogul. A problem with a broken switch had us backed up for a short time. The track crew was on top of iit and we were moving again shortly. Thats about all I have, there were probably 25 trains in all running. Steam count was eight or nine. From the amount of storage tracks and steaming bays, this must be a club, rather than a private track? Date: 03/30/26 10:48 Re: Livin’ Large, near Dallas Author: WrongWayMurphy pennsy3750 Wrote:

Lol, that's one reason I bailed out several years ago. Clearly not the way it used to be... JG |
