Model Railroading > A question about a bump trolleyDate: 04/02/26 08:30 A question about a bump trolley Author: Highhood I am aware that bump trolley is a o scale item.
would it work with a Ho scale track and engine ? TIA for your response. Bachmann also has those. Bowser has better trolleys, but they are in the same price range as Bachmann. This set of track pieces has to be independent of other track.
As with all things Bachmann, shopping around will find better prices. Edited 4 time(s). Last edit at 04/02/26 13:17 by Lighter. The engine needs to be DC as it will change the polarity of the engine upon it spanning a insulated section at each end of travel. It will not work for DCC as polarity does'nt matter with DCC. The tail end of you train (if not just the engine) would need to be able to span a like insulated section on the other end of your "loop" to reverse. My thought on the bump thing is HO engines would fall off the track after bumping because they are too light in weight. If there were something where the engine polarity could be changed by breaking a light and mirror device, that would be even better.
