Where'd they go so fast?

I pre-ordered ATHG1333-1338...the end pair and 5 intermediate 2 packs...

Only one intermediate set arrived to my dealer and there are ZERO of any out available.

Athearn lists all as retired now.

Its odd

Athearn seems to be shorting their own pre-orders on several different items lately. Not sure why as it's only going to piss off people. We had a discussion about this in another forum in regards to the Weyerhaeuser 3-bay covered sand hoppers where many pre-orders went unfulfilled.

There's a discussion on MRH explaining that Athearn started using a new software system and there was some magnitude of a problem with backorders, or pre-orders, simply not being picked up by the new software. Because of the nature of pre-ordering it wasn't sorted out until a number of customers, stores and Athearn noticed their pre-orders were not listed in the present system. 

Seems like a pretty basic requirement for a new system. Don't know how valid the story is but there's a number of Customers finding there's nothing for them to purchase.

This isn't new to Athearn. This has happened multiple times under Horizon dating back to the first UP Genesis cabooses. Its just like there incredibly poor web site that they are either unwilling to fix or to inept to fix.

Yeah, Horizon is more into model airplanes, rockets and other "items" so Athearn gets stuck sucking hind teet. Reserve at your own risk. And speaking of reservations, when are those UP CA-11 cabooses suppose to arrive?
