Sacramento On Carquinez Model Railroad Society Crockett, Layout

Model Railroad section of TO has been a little sparse lately so thought I'd add a little
interest. This is the unique depiction of Sacramento at CMRS layout.
Since photo was taken a few years ago, this scene has been further enhanced by 
operating headlights and turn signals on vehicles.

Rio Grande boiler color?

I see that in earlier Rio Grande mainline steam boiler jackets were green. Does anyone know when they were later painted black? Thanks in advance!
