Model Railroading > The Katy Komet, at North Boggy Creek OKDate: 06/19/26 07:21 The Katy Komet, at North Boggy Creek OK Author: WrongWayMurphy It was 1968 and I was trackside at North Boggy Creek, OK when the Katy Komet passed by. Good thing I had my Bell & Howell Focus-Matic Super 8 movie camera loaded with a reel of film in the sprockets and fresh set of AA and Mercury button batteries.
The Katy Comet was a fast freight between Fort Worth and St. Louis & Kansas City (split at Parsons Kan). North Boggy Creek is just north of Atoka OK. Bridge and train is modeled as if it is the mid 60's. Bridge is a model of the real thing, now UP has replaced some of it with concrete decking. Edited 1 time(s).
