Very nice looking train.
I rode this one several times in the steam era, most memorably on #57 in '49 on our last leg home to SF.  
We had around 20 cars and double headed ACs.  The run up Soledad Canyon is what sticks in my mind, lots of sharp curves with good visibility up to the head end.

Wow!
One memory of a single AC pulling one of the evening westbounds up into Tunnel 25 at Newhall was how LOUD he was. 
We were on a Sunday drive and my Dad had pulling into an overlook on Foothill Blvd.  He absolutely filled the valley/canyon with sound, no trucks or other road traffic could be heard,

I used to watch freights go under the Sierra Hwy bridge at 2:00 in the morning. The sounds and vibrations were amazing. I can only imagine what a cab forward would've sounded like back in the day!!

Really nice scene and a beautiful train.
