Model Railroading > Rapido Balloon Top CN Hwt Coaches, HO

I was attempting to reserve a couple of Rapido CN HO Balloon Top Coaches the other day and was having difficulty findin retailers listing the cars for reservations.  .

Is that project still on track at Rapido?

If I'm reading their website correctly these cars have already been delivered, which may be why you are encountering problems trying to preorder them.  

Rapido has one road name left in stock, VIA #5186, they are showing all others as sold out on their US website.  They are showing several more available on their Canadian website.  

That being said Trainworld is still showing four VIA road numbers and a CN Engineering car available as pre-orders, so not sure what's going on there.

Yes, their website shows them at dealers. They don't remove the 'in stock' value until every single item is out of the warehouse, there is only 1 listed, the Via one. Once all stock is gone, they move the line item to 'see dealer'. They update the delivery schedule page about twice a month or so.

There are dealers that sell new Rapido on eBay (and often at a discount with a 100% rating). Also, I have found that Midwest Model Railroad often has Rapido items, out of stock with Rapido, I can't get anywhere else.

Our website is 100% terrible. 

I can confirm that ALL of the balloon tops are sold out except for a handful of the CN engineering one.

If our website says any other car is in stock, DON'T BELIEVE IT. We have been fighting with the website every day. It is full of Gremlins. We take stuff out of stock manually and BOOM! it reappears in stock as if by magic.

Hopefully you can find them from a dealer.

Maybe there are some hobby shops in Canada that have a few? Walthers used to have a service where you could track hobby-shoos that ordered particular items from them. I don't know if they still offer that feature on their website. I used it once with success for a hard to find, out of stock item.
