Passenger Trains > Trinidad Station - Needs Toilet Paper - Please!

Request Amtrak's temporary Trinidad station get toilet paper and waiting room be unlocked prior to Southwest Chief arrivals. April 23, 2008 the temporary Trinidad, CO, station was locked all morning while passengers waited in the cold wind. Toilet paper was gone - provide some ASAP! The outhouse needed servicing - it stunk from little if any janitorial service. Nearby I-25 construction workers using facility - they brought there own toilet paper!

Amtrak train 3 arrived with 130-137 up front - little freight traffic on the ex-Santa Fe line. BNSF maintenance of way forces were out and about along the line keeping Amtrak trains moving at high speed.

Maybe someone at Amtrak will be grossed out by it enough to do something and take care of the problem.

Well, in the first place AMTK should complain to the provider AND to the state (CDOT) that highway construction workers are using the porta-potty. Contractors are required to provide enough potties in enough locations to take care of their workers, and in this case some cheapskate is probably shaving off a couple hundred a month to put in his pocket while ripping off Amtrak.

I can't believe anyone would actually expect a porto potty to have TP. Pretty much anything not nailed down will be stolen sooner or later. Unfortunate, but reality. Always wise to travel with an emergency roll in your bags.

Be lucky someone doesn't post a picture of a locomotive toilet on here. It would make that porta potty look good.
