Passenger Trains > Cool runnings on the Corridor /Morrisville & BristolDate: 12/29/10 17:08 Cool runnings on the Corridor /Morrisville & Bristol Author: Mgoldman Got up nice and early - or, couldn't sleep, so I figured I'd
see what the Corridor looked like in the early morning. First stop was the Delaware River Bridge connecting Morrisville, PA with Trenton, NJ. Amtrak traffic seemed relatively few but was happy to catch a set of former PRR Silverliner IIs'. Second image, New Jersey Transit double deckers. Last picture, an Acela by passes by a former PRR station in Bristol, PA. /Mitch Date: 12/29/10 17:22 Re: Cool runnings on the Corridor /Morrisville & Bristo Author: africansteam That first shot is a killer, Mitch.
Cheers, Jack Date: 12/29/10 17:28 Re: Cool runnings on the Corridor /Morrisville & Bristo Author: RuleG You've posted many fine photos, Mitch, but that first is my favorite of anything you've done (including steam).

Very nice piece of work Mitch, well worth the effort. —Mac Date: 12/30/10 05:51 Re: Cool runnings on the Corridor /Morrisville & Bristo Author: bluesboyst "Trenton Makes the World Takes".... Always looks for that when traveling through Newark.... Wish it was still true.

What's the vantage point for that first one? Date: 12/30/10 10:23 Re: Morrisville Author: timz2 First pic train is westward and he's on
the west bank of the river-- what's reflecting that sunlight onto the NW side of the train? Date: 12/30/10 11:54 Re: Morrisville Author: OldPorter The quality of the "winter light" is superb in these pics! Thank you
for posting them. Only the very best oil painters could capture this elusive light in a painting (as well as your photos do!) Date: 12/30/10 14:15 Re: Morrisville Author: Mgoldman timz2 Wrote:

Thank you all for you kind comments - made being there at 7 AM all the more worthwhile! The vantage point on the first image is as it appears, the Morrisville side of the bridge looking Southeast. My bet on the reflected light is likely a reflection from the sun on the other side bouncing off one of the high rise buildings back onto the side of the stainless steel train sides. /Mitch |
