Passenger Trains > Leavenworth Snow Train - 12/8Date: 12/08/12 14:46 Leavenworth Snow Train - 12/8 Author: gsnyder Last weeks run between Seattle and Leavenworth was cancelled due to mudslides, so this is the first one this year. I believe there are 2 more scheduled - on the 15th and 22nd.

I like the video staring with the train off in the distance. Thanks for a look at a train many of us would never have seen and a lengthy one at that. I suspect those last two cars are PV.

Thank you for some wonderful footage I should have seen for myself. Carkeek's my stomping grounds, I just don't stomp there enough. ;( Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 12/10/12 07:58 by deckard. Date: 12/10/12 17:06 Re: Leavenworth Snow Train - 12/8 Author: coaststarlight99 I didn't even notice that---the date at the beginning on the screen says December 2010---two years ago---but the description says it was the first one run. I wonder which this is: Two years ago, or just the other day?
Date: 12/10/12 20:58 Re: Leavenworth Snow Train - 12/8 Author: deckard No, it's Saturday December 8th, 2012 for sure - I can tell by the mudslide the previous weekend. This is the Stevens Pass corridor route BNSF and Sounder/Amtrak trains rely-upon so heavily. Since it's an all too-common an occurrence, I guess these folks can handle a mandatory 48-hour shutdown every time it happens.
If only they had an inland corridor...no, wait: That would put trains in too many people'$ backyards. Date: 12/10/12 21:58 Re: Leavenworth Snow Train - 12/8 Author: gsnyder Oops, editing problem. It is indeed the train from this past Saturday (Dec. 8, 2012)
